“Ionic Liquids for and as novel types offunctional materials”

Ionic Liquids offer a broad range of possible applications. The first generation was developed as electrolytes in battery research. After being tested as solvents for many applications and the development of more stable ionic liquids they are now regarded as functional material for a problem driven approach. The talk will cover the use of ionic liquids and derivatives in biomedical applications, for immobilization of (organo) catalysts and for the quenching of alloys.
